Meet Kat....
Artist, designer, pattern engineer, stay at home mom and wife. I guess I wear many hats!
My love for art and being creative came along time ago. I grew up on the little seacoastal town of Nantasket Beach. My passion growing up was horses, and drawing them. In fact, my art teacher once asked me if I could draw anything beside horses. I respond, "yes, unicorns!"
Today I live in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains , Tennessee. I spent many years following my love for art and exhibiting my paintings in various galleries between Massachusetts, North Carolina and Tennessee. So how did I get into doll clothes and pattern drafting? My daughter. She got her first American Girl doll and of course, she needed a wardrobe. I went and made up outfits and began having requests. Both my husband and I use to do living history. So I was sewing historical reproductions for ourselves and others. I eventually started making patterns of historical clothes for our daughters dolls and that is where it all began.
Today I am designing, drafting sewing patterns for a variety of dolls from 18 inch, to 13 inch vintage collectibles.
My OOAK dolls are a combination of art and sewing.
